Indian Wedding Fashion : Part 3 - Marriage

Hey stunners, hope you all are enjoying attending all the weddings and its pre and post ceremonies! Many of you who follow me on social media, already know that I recently attended my brothers wedding and enjoyed being a part of all the related functions as well. It won't be wrong if I say, Indian weddings are gala affairs replete with pomp, show and colour, and to prove that I posted two different outfits for two different pre-wedding ceremonies on this blog recently. You can check out the Engagement look HERE and the Tilak/Sangeet look HERE.

To close this year's wedding collaboration series with Jyotika Mirpuri Aroura, today I'm here to share with you the last part of the series being the ultimate Marriage ceremony look! We all dream of looking our best at a family or friend's wedding and the season of glitz and glamour demands you to look your best and bring out the best outfits from your wardrobe.

Scroll down below to take a look at my outfit pick for a family wedding and how beautiful the team at JMA MAKEUP & FASHION STUDIO in Lucknow made me look with their makeup skills!

Wedding season in India is no less than a festival with so many events to attend, but the marriage ceremony being the most important, we all want to don some red-carpet worthy styles. Whether you are the blushing sister, doting sister-in-law or a happy bridesmaid, you are allowed to dress up extravagantly but without overshadowing the bride! Many of us tend to wear heavy lehengas and lavish anarkalis at weddings because they form a regular style. But as wedding fashion keeps on changing every now and then, one shouldn't fear experimenting!

For a recent wedding I attended, I opted for a straight fit, body hugging Indian suit comprising of a long brocade kurta in creamish-gold color with yellow silk-lycra churidaar bottoms. The spoof buttoned kurta comprised of long sleeves that helped accentuate my arms under the cut sleeve black velvet jacket with prepossessing zardozi embroidery on its high neck collar and front. The jacket looked quite artistic with its design and ankle length cut that helped me look taller than usual, though along with the smashing glittery heels I wore in my feet! Also, if you notice in the pictures above, at the back neck of the jacket there are tassels (latkan) hanging which make it more decorative. And, similar tassles were added to the yellow net dupatta that came along with the suit with the same embroidery as on the jacket as well. The whole designer suit set looks magnificent and helped me look graceful!

Since this was a wedding look, I wanted something spunky and exquisite, and Jyotika just gave me the most magical makeup and hair do with heavy foundation, smokey black eyes with dark lining and false lashes, along with pink blush on the cheeks and rosewood pink lipsFor my hair, she separated my hair on the front and rolled them up on either sides while creating a bun on the side and a queen's pouf on the rear part of my head, attaching hair pins to avoid fall off. We also opted for a statement maang tika and a bindi on the forehead to complete the look and I must mention, I could've never imagined myself look so pretty if I were not dressed my best by Jyotika!

With this, we come to the end of the wedding fashion series for year 2016. I would like to thank Jyotika and her entire team at JMA Makeup & Fashion Studio for making me look stunning as ever in her creative, designer outfits and the amazing makeup on my face and different hairstyles every single time! I would also like to extend my gratitude to the very kind hospitality team at Renaissance Lucknow Hotel for allowing me to shoot at their venue and help me with everything that was needed. Last but not the least, a big thanks my friend Zeeshan Khan for the super gorgeous pictures he clicked for me and made this series attention worthy!

PS : Like I mentioned last year too, I might or might not come up with a new series next year but will keep posting different outfit looks at different occasions, so keep following me here and on social media! Until next time, lots of love and best wishes.

Indian Wedding Fashion : Part 2 - Tilak/Sangeet

Hey girlies! Hope you are all doing fine. Firstly, I would like to thank everyone out there who took out time and read my first part of the wedding collaboration series which was an engagement party look. It was indeed overwhelming to see your comments too, so thank you very very much! And for all those who missed checking it out earlier can do it now by clicking HERE.

Coming to today's post, its the second part of this year's wedding fashion series with JMA Makeup & Fashion Studio, where I'm going to share with you a beautiful outfit totally apt for the Tilak & Sangeet ceremonies as we have in the Indian culture. I would request you to now scroll down and enjoy the pictures and all details about my look!

outfit, head accessory : JMA Fashion Studio | rings, bracelets : Auhna Creations | silver bangle set : The Trinket Shop
handcuff : Hill Road (Mumbai) | makeup & hair : JMA Makeup Studio

To be honest, my most favorite ceremony out of all other functions is sangeet because first you get to dance madly and second you get to wear your best outfit because then's when the groom's and bride's families compete the most, so you know you want to look your best! In a recent sangeet function I attended, I chose to wear the lehenga skirt & top attire that you see in the pictures above, comprising of a black cold shoulder crop top made of raw silk fabric and slight ruffles on the sleeves with a long, flowy skirt with mesmerising floral prints on the satin silk fabric that makes the skirt really comfortable to dance around in!

This outfit is designed by Jyotika Mirpuri Aroura under her own fashion label and I love how gracefully it stands out on a gorgeous silhouette. Now, since we wanted to keep my hair lose and long, Jyotika simply gave me bouncy tongs with a pouf and accessorized it with a metallic head chain to give a bohemian touch to dazzle! I also added a few bangles and bracelets on either wrists to give a party finish to the look. And, with my makeup we didn't play a lot this time, because smokey eyes pink lips and a fresh face did wonders as it is!

So guys, that's it for today. I hope you liked going through this post and loved watching the pictures as much as I loved getting them clicked. If you're looking for some sangeet outfits soon, you must check out JMA store once at least and I'm sure you'll drool over their collection. You can check them out on facebook and instagram for more!

Indian Wedding Fashion : Part 1 - Engagement

Hello my gorgeous readers! It feels so good to be back at work, writing my first post for the last month of this year. 2016 has been a great journey so far and I hope I make the last days of it worthwhile for you all on this blog as well!

Last night I released a teaser video on facebook telling you all about the wedding ceremonial looks that I'll be sharing here under the wedding series like I'd put last year! You all loved it even then and I was adamant on continuing it this time too, so bringing in something new I've collaborated with a celebrity designer and makeup-artist, Mrs. Jyotika Mirpuri Aroura, who has been working for more than 6 years in the industry now. Having her roots in Lucknow, she decided to return to her hometown from Mumbai, and start her label giving some glam back to the city. JMA MAKEUP & FASHION STUDIO in Lucknow is located at Gokhale Marg past 2 years and Lucknowites are crazy over JMA's excellent work!

I feel so glad to have gotten an opportunity to be styled by Jyotika and with no further delay let's scroll down to check out a few pictures from the Engagement look we've created and some details about it!

An engagement party is such a fun time. You get to dressup whatever way you want, without the traditional rituals, you can make new traditions and wear the most beautiful dresses. If you're a bride-to-be and looking for something unconventional, a full length gown will help you make a statement and show off your personality. Imbibing the indo-western concept, these days most of Indian engagement parties are incomplete without an add-on cocktail party and you definitely want to wear something that looks perfect for the entire affair!

The glam gown that I'm wearing suits the engagement-cocktail occasion amazingly. Made of raw silk in azure blue color, this A-line outfit is layered with a hard net jacket embroidered fully with silver and gold. I love how the full sleeve net covers the cut sleeve of the gown inside and makes the whole look appear so classy. Opting for a gown at your engagement has many pluses that appeal to the Indian woman. It hides figure imperfections, can be worn long, or short, and most importantly, free-flowing gowns are perfect for women with a heavy bottom, since they hide flab. Its a breakaway from the lehenga-choli ensemble and here it was, both put together as a silhouette, in one easy-to-wear piece. So now you know, wearing a gown is much more than a fashion statement!

Coming to my makeup for this look, I wanted to go in for natural shades because heavy bridal makeup is a no-no for me, and who better than you guys would know it! Jyotika being the pro gave me a fresh face with light foundation covering, little blush, coral lips and smokey eyes, Let me tell you I tried false eyelashes for the first time very hesitantly but I love how it accentuated my eyelids and the filled in brows created a perfect illusion of a subtle face! For my hair she gave me a curly pony and a poofy rose bun on the back to enhance the entire hair section and we accessorized the complete look with a ring and handcuff and that's it!

I hope you all liked reading this first post of this year's wedding collaboration series. I'll be sharing 2 more posts in this week itself so that I don't have to keep you waiting for long, so stay tuned for those as well. As of now, let me know in the comments below what do you think of this engagement look. If you love it, share it across and spread some love!

amanté Store Launch in Lucknow

Hello pretty ladies! How are y'all doing? The days are getting pretty cold and I'm acting sluggish as ever. But nevertheless, I had to share this post with you from last month when I attended the first store launch of AMANTE in my city Lucknow. amantĂ©, India's leading premium lingerie brand opened two exclusive showrooms in the city of nawabs on 17th of November, one at Sahara Ganj mall where I visited and the second one at One Awadh Center mall, and I'm so glad to have been a part of the launch event because I got to meet the stunning Aditi Rao Hydari who came to cut the ribbon and unveil the super lingerie collection at the store.

The time when we did a mannequin challenge with Aditi Rao Hydari

L-R : Vivek Mehta (CEO - amantĂ© India), Aditi Rao Hydari, Ajay Amalean (Director - MAS Holdings)

Aditi being the sweet soul she is, clicked a prompt selfie with me and TBH I was stunned!

Oh! And yeah, we also interacted a bit, so that was super amazing too!

amantĂ© came to India in the fall of 2007 and since then the brand has always promised to offer fashion, comfort and value in the right measure to the Asian woman and it believes that a fashionable and confident woman deserves a product that is modeled to fit her silhouette and made to suit her surroundings. I personally feel that it is essential to look and feel fashionable by wearing the right lingerie, with a wide variety available. While strolling across the newly opened amantĂ© store, I found various collections to pick my favorites. From the BFF Collection which is designed for all the young women to suit their daily trendy college wear, to the new range of Active Wear comprising of comfy tees, camisoles, shorts, tracks, to the Aura Collection focusing on fashion-forward elements of metallic highlights, geometric patterns, to exotic floral prints and exquisitely elegant Bridal Bliss Collection with its intricate lace and carefully crafted designs in bras, baby dolls and satin robes in passionate colours like maroon, peach, white and nude being the mix of comfort and sensuality. The brand pretty much consists of everything that a girl could ask for!

Also, often when the discussion is about lingerie, we tend to focus on bras a lot more than we do with panties. Wearing the right fitting underwear is just as important as a perfect bra and hence amanté offers a variety of panty sets for the regular women needs and have even included some in the bridal collection combo!

Perfect for the young women of today, amantĂ© collection is edgy, chic, and comfy – just what you need this season to look and feel fabulous! The impeccable amantĂ© store in Lucknow houses a beautiful collection apt for every occasion. The brand is also available online at www.amantelingerie.com and the offline stores are present in Mumbai, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow and Bengaluru. So go girls, get your hands on some glamorous lingerie from amantĂ© and look your best at all occasions!

For the launch event, I wore a powder blue shift dress from StalkBuyLove, layering it with an  olive green shrug from the same website. Added faux leather block heels from StreetStyleStore, and accessorized the complete look with a waist belt, a few earrings and a leather strap watch! My makeup and hair were done by Divya Vishnani, from JMA Makeup & Fashion Studio. She gave me brown smokey eyes, little blush on the cheeks, wine lips and a waterfall hairstyle that looked really elegant!

Diwali Luxe with JMA Makeup & Fashion

Hello, you gorgeous people out there! Happy Diwali to one and all! Hope it's going great so far. At my place, I've just got done with the morning rituals and now prepping up for the 'maha pujan' for evening.

As you know, diwali has always been my favorite festival, so I make sure I do something special so that every year it becomes a fruitful memory for everyone! This time I've got you guys a gala post showcasing one out-of-the-box festive outfit from JMA MAKEUP & FASHION STUDIO, where JMA stands for Jyotika Mirpuri Aroura, who is a bollywood celebrity makeup artist and fashion stylist.

Like always, I was on a search spree for a perfect Diwali attire, and reached out to JMA for some cool options. Interestingly, she not only pulled out a sexy outfit for me from her newly designed collection, but also gave me a complete beauty makeover that I surely want you all to check out! Guys, scroll down now..

When it comes to getting dressed for a festival, you will agree with me that it does become stressful because you have to take care while deciding what to throw upon yourself which will be comfortable throughout, as well as looks pretty enough to woo people around! With so many different styles to choose from, this year I rushed to JMA to pick my perfect festive outfit and got my hands on a set of beautiful crop top and lehenga pants! It looked breathtakingly stylish, giving a complete indo-western feel with the cold shoulder top made in raw silk, paired with the lehenga pants in silk and brocade. I loved the concept of the bottom wear with half lehenga and half pants, like quite quirky it appeared!

The design of the lehenga pants seem complex, but its the easiest to wear. Guess it took me a few seconds to pull up the elasticated pants and a few more to zip up the crop top, and I was all set. Coming to what actually takes time for females to get ready is the makeup and I witnessed it myself when Jyotika started painting my face with some MAC ad Kryolan products, giving me smokey eyes, elegant fresh face and dark pink lips. With my hair, the JMA team did something miraculous that looks like a messy bun on the side and raised pouf attaching a bold maang tika in the front. To complete the look, I wore a pair of brass earrings, a ring and handcuff that matched superbly with the outfit!

For me, fashion is not what I see and take inspiration from on a regular basis. I mostly mix match clothes from wardrobe and get ready in minutes! Thus, it was surprising to see myself getting dressed for Diwali by JMA and that too 'flawless'! Jyotika Mirpuri Aroura is one of the country's best makeup artist and undoubtedly a terrific fashion stylist. Make sure you visit JMA Makeup & Fashion Studio in Lucknow at least once, to experience the excellent work Jyotika and her team does and trust me, you'll look stunning like you've never looked before!
