Wedding Style : Part 2 - Haldi / Mehendi

The date is set, the invites are out, all is merry in your world. The countdown has begun for your best friend’s wedding and while she’s basking in the glow of her engagement, you’ve been frantically googling ‘what to wear to my bestie’s haldi & mehendi”! Out of so many pre-wedding functions, Haldi & Mehendi happen to top the charts in terms of popularity. It's a roller coaster ride of fun-filled moments for both, the bride and her and friends, where a lot of merry-making takes places.

In the frantic motion, I've got for you a stunning outfit that you can choose to dress in for your friend's Haldi and/or Mehendi functions. I picked this extremely gorgeous Chikankari jacket in a sunshine yellow colour with slim pants and a short layered kurta from STRAWBERRY FASHION STUDIO.

Designer Aditi Jaggi Rastogi knows how to bring the best twist in the most traditional silhouettes, and this beautiful outfit is a sheer example of perfection! The intricate chikankari work speaks of the cultural understanding, and the style speaks of modern mixed with traditional.

I chose to accessorise this piece heavily with a bold statement necklace, studded with polki kundan from BK SARAF JEWELLERS (Mahanagar, Lucknow). They have a wide collection of pre-wedding & wedding jewellery, and if you're looking at some stunning sets, BK SARAF (Mahanagar) is the place you need to head right away this season!

Keeping it dramatic, makeup artist SIDDHI CHAUBEY gave me a bold pink & yellow look, to add to the glam function. She left my hair loose with waves and added a little golden rose pin to it. For my feet I chose to add nude heels to keep it color coordinated and not go bold all over!

I hope you liked this Haldi / Mehendi look, and if you did, do share it across with your friends. Tip : Ditch the heavy weaves and layered lehengas for something light, easy-wear yet perfectly statement-making this wedding season - just like this beautiful piece I'm wearing!

The Camo Style ft. Cultfiction Clothing

Hello everyone, I hope you liked the last post that I published yesterday, talking about my rainbow attraction. It's really close to my heart, and I wanted y'all to take a look! If you haven't chanced upon it yet, do it HERE now.

As for today, I've got you another fashion post from a different brand - CULTFICTION CLOTHING. They do not sell on their own website but other major ones like - Ajio, Jabong, Koovs, Myntra & Flipkart. The brand is one of my favourites when it comes to sporty chic outfits, and I'd been a regular customer, until one fine day they sent me some sample pieces to try and share with you guys (my lovely readers). Let me tell you, Cultfiction is one of the most reliable brands when it comes to skin friendly fabric and authentic colors, and like most of you know I love stepping out in comfort more than spunky apparels, this brand just does it right for me!

For this post, I've chosen to share two of my favorite camouflage looks from Cultfiction. I've taken a sparkle of runway inspiration and brought camo back! The oh-so-wearable trend definitely won’t disguise or hide your high and mighty style game, trust me!

The first piece is a camisole top, with camo pattern in red, blue and white. My most favorite color combination for the chill season! Darker colors just make me look a li'l prettier in this weather you see. Well, it's a crop top, more like a t-shirt, and fits me perfectly. I tend to avoid wearing sleeveless tops but this one adds the right curve to my shoulder and looks sexy! I paired it up with a black distressed jeans and white heels to give the look an edge.

PS : Since this post was shot in the summers, you know it's more like a summer outfit, but of course can be donned in winters with a jacket layered unapologetically, ain't it?

The second piece is a camo shift dress. Now who wouldn't want to make a statement in the rough-and-tough khaki and grey hue to look totally badass. It's time we carry forward an essence of femininity and sexiness by adding an army-inspired uniform to our wardrobes for instant kickass sass. Do we dare to bring back the trend? Hell yes!

This shift dress is a very stylish yet comfortable piece in my wardrobe and will always be, until I find something better (not happening anytime soon I believe). The pattern is stunning and can be carried in any season, regardless of the offbeat style. I can layer it up with a long coat in winters and add longer boots. As for this look, I chose to wear my ankle length boots, and clinch a sleek belt on my waist. Also added a chunky metallic bracelet to give the look a definition.

Recently I stumbled upon a picture of Victoria Beckham walking the streets of New York, carrying the best version of herself styled in a camo tee, and that inspired me to finally publish this post! But with that, it also begs the question - if one of the most stylish woman on the planet is backing the return of camouflage, should you be too? Well, the answer is : it's a counterintuitive fashion trend, and we all want to stand out! It's impossible not to notice it! So girls, make 'camo' a runway trend and pull out your camouflage outfits and show your flirty, colorful camo side for spring!

You can buy the top HERE, and the dress HERE.

The Bold Winters with Thigh-Highs

Hey loves. How's it going? Everything's super hectic at my end, and with that the change in the weather seems like the powers up there are in dilemma. I mean, we were all enjoying sunshine so bright, and all of a sudden there are chilly winds to surprise. Anyway, that doesn't refrain us girls to dress hep, eh?

Today, it's the thigh-high boots that I'm going to talk about. I've been wanting to get a pair since years, and finally got my hands on these black suede ones from SHEIN.COM! The first question I asked myself when I unboxed them was, 'How the heck are we supposed to wear these enticingly provocative yet on-trend boots in a way that embraces their innate power and sexiness whilst still feeling classy and stylish, and not totally over the top?'

The answer, as I found that lies with most things, lies somewhere between portraying total confidence and the attitude of IDGAF. But to really get this look right, I knew I had to pay careful attention to the amount of skin peeking out between the hem of the outfit I choose to don with it and the boots!

shirt : Female Fashion | shorts, rings : Forever 21 | boots, choker : Shein.com

Winters are suppose to be chilly, and you're suppose to wrap your yourselves with layers, but then, that distinctive character of yours has to be brought out as well. I chose to team up my thigh-highs with just a monochrome check shirt and a pair of denim shorts for the day. It's a casual cotton long shirt (that I got from a local store in Lucknow - Female Fashion, known best for it's uncoventional styles and designs), that I threw up like a dress on myself, letting it fall just at the right place to space enough with the boots. And of course, the shorts are just for certainty purpose to avoid embarrassment in public. I finished my look with some nude makeup on my face, a black choker in neck and rings in my fingers!

My style of dressing comes with little, to no-effort, but that doesn't mean it's too easy to carry. If you are looking forward to try this style, be sure that you choose a pair that is contemporary, sophisticated, and practical. It's true that they’re a closet gem as they can polish off a broad range of looks from mini to midi skirts, cuffed shorts, or skinny jeans. You can always pair them with a short skirt or a dress to reveal a sexy sliver of skin and achieve a softer look than you would get when wearing stockings. If you decide to bare some leg, try to limit it to about three inches of thigh between your boot and bottoms!

I have experimented with so many looks in all these years, but this shall remain my ultimate favorite, I swear! It took me a lot of courage to convince myself to don this look in public and pose with the right attitude, making my photographer and people around comfortable with the boldness! Damn, I can't believe I did it.

If you liked this look, do share the link of this post amongst your friends, and don't forget to leave a comment below, telling me your thought over this post! Until next, love.

Affordable Fashion : Class & Charm in less than Rs. 5000

"You don't have to be rich to look fashionable!"

As fashion lovers, we'll admit to busting the bank for some purchases. But we're not crazy. There are some items that don't need to be designer. Beyond that, it's actually better if they're not, especially when you're talking basics that will see a lot of wear and tear. You cannot imagine the number of messages I get on a daily basis from girls who want to read about affordable fashion that's trendy, comfy, classy and charming at the same time! Of course, you'd say street style is the least expensive, but what about other trends that are more girly and chic? I've got you today's post with exact prices as picked from different brands put together in my #ootd for less than Rs.5000. Read below more details!

dress : AND | bag : Ni & Sa Bags | heels : StreetStyleStore | bow : Oony by Anab
bracelet : Auhna Creations | belt : Jabong | ring : Blinglane

It's no secret that shift dresses are easy to wear and are universally flattering as they compliment just about all body shapes. My first pick was this cute ombre peach dress from AND which was for Rs.1699/-. For a pear-shaped, petite woman like me, this dress is a perfect piece which covers my knees, has full length sleeves, and can be donned at a casual brunch or a dine out. Along with that, to give it a more polished look, I secured the waist with a skinny belt from Jabong that I bought for Rs.200/- on a sale. Belts are edgy and fun to accentuate the lose waists, and can be twisted to form pretty embellishments at any time!

Coming to the accessories, I opted for a cute pair of peach heels that are enclosed and pointed from the front, looking posh. These are versatile footwear, can be styled with office wear, party gowns, or a simple dress like mine. I got it from StreetStyleStore for Rs.699/-. I've gotta say this that my accessories all put together are way more than all my money spent on the dress, but that's the fun part, you get too many things for cheaper rates. Like how girls want it, eh? Anyway, to add some funk to my look, I wore a twisty bracelet in silver and orange on my right wrist which is worth Rs. 150/-, sold by Auhna Creations. A pair of studs in my ears for Rs.10 from a local market. The ring on my left little finger for Rs. 499/- from Blinglane, and the cutest part of my look - the blue bow in my hair is from Oony for just Rs. 150/-. To finish off my look, I opted for a quirky tassel bag from Ni & Sa that costs Rs.1499/-. And I'm done!

No matter what age group you belong to, trendiest fashion in the best prices is a dream for every female. There are so many brands out there, waiting for you to grab their pieces on sale (especially the ones I mentioned as above). Know your shape and find your style, and you can always thank me later! If you liked this quick tip post, do let me know in the comments below. Until next, much love.
