Rainbow Attraction ft. Shein

Hi guys, how's it going? Been long I've updated you about what's happening around. A lot of you noticed that I've been MIA throughout the last year and I've received so many questions regarding that! True, not even 2 posts per month sometimes.

Well, as some of you know, and to those who still don't, that I moved to New Delhi in June 2018 and had been trying to explore a fairly new world altogether! I've never really stayed away from my family before, but for the past 8 months, it's been hell crazy. I've learned to live all by myself, work my ass out under bosses, pay my own bills, solve electricity and water problems, cook my own food and drove on roads at 2 AM that I've never travelled before! A lot of lessons have come my way where I've met with accidents, dealt with them (mostly with no help, and sometimes with the help of friends who've now become family). I've built new relationships, survived heartbreaks, and kept some tucked in while I culturally transform myself! Honestly, I've evolved as a person, and have also managed to keep in action as much as I could. 2018 has been a slow year for Picker at Pace but I think this was essential. I really needed a break from constant writing and wanted to classify my priorities!

PS : I've moved back to Lucknow now. Well, I hope y'all have the answer to your questions, and you don't hate me anymore for not keeping you looped in!

Also, HAPPY NEW YEAR guys. It's 2019 (almost 2 months done to it already) but nevertheless I'd want to restart this blog with some super posts. Sharing below with you guys my fascination for rainbows and how I ended up buying the most colorful top in my wardrobe, also the one many of you have your eyes upon! Scroll down to read it all..

A lot of you have been enquiring about my obsession with rainbows. You literally saw a LIVE haul session on my instagram that consisted of more than 20 things with the rainbow print. Honestly, the 7 odd colours have been the reason for my evolvement. They bring so much positivity in me, and keep me motivated. Though rainbows not only depict bliss always, it's a mix of grey feelings as well, when I'm not so motivated and shed bucket full of tears because I'm not coping with what's coming my way. However, what the rainbows have taught me is to not give up trying, and that whatever the moments are - happy or gloomy, they shall pass!

I'm attracted to rainbows, so much so that I wear them and walk out of my house only to keep the feeling intact. I found this rainbow top on SHEIN.in and I added it to my cart without even checking the price! The design looked decent, and the off shoulder style made it appear pretty as well. I chose to club it with a pair of yellow shorts from Shein.in itself. The shorts had cute knots on the sides and were of just perfect length! A cool combo for summer outings and even for winters can be paired with boots and the overall outfit can be layered with a jacket. I mean if you're a shorts lover, you'd not want to ditch this look. It's so vibrant and attractive! To add, did you notice the charming rainbow pendant? It compliments the outfit and also the other accessories - gold bracelets and the monochrome earrings match perfectly!

Also, these ankle boots are one of my favorites. These are an old pick from H&M and I'm so fond of them that I don't think I'll want to get rid of them for a long time now. These go so well with anything and everything, especially cute outfits and formals. Must have these kind in your collection!

You can buy the entire outfit from SHEIN.IN, and of course can thank me later! Do drop in your feedback on this post if you liked reading it. Coming your way more this month, stay tuned! Until then, lots of love to each one of you.

Formal Basics for Fall '17

Hello ladies! Hope all's going great at your end. It's getting cold here in Lucknow, but somewhat not, and I am not really appreciating the climate change because I've literally got a ton of summer dresses to flaunt, but in the evening it gets chilly and I have to ditch them. Is it the same for you? You know that one-pieces are my favorite picks mostly but wearing pants is all I'm left with! It's evident that winters are not yet here, but this is that period of time which brings in some excitement with the fall season, making you wear summer clothes put together with full lengths that look both comfortable and chic.

Well, in the middle of fall, lie two glorious weeks (more or less) where the weather literally could not be better and you're equally comfortable sipping on a warm coffee drink as you are a cold one. You're also probably going on a stroll in the park because this is the only time of the year that sounds like something nice to do too! Anyway, in this post you're going to read about my fall picks that are both summer bright and winter shady, also a few tips on what fabrics to choose. Let's scroll down and take a look..

top, pants : Pantaloons | heels : Steve Madden | bag : Stitch in Style | watch : Daniel Wellington

I have always been a casual stylist. For me comfort is of utmost importance. I dig into my wardrobe daily but pull out all basics everyday. For once when I chose to give street styles a hit, I got my hands on a black & white polka peplum top in polyster fabric with quarter sleeves and teamed it up with a pair of sky blue skinny pants in cotton that look formal but make me feel hep over those laced tan booties that are the classic fall footwear, and also match the tan sling I carried. Oh yes, this entire look is a timeless fashion trend!

Well, it's not just about colors that make fall fashion a hot topic to be discussed, but the fabric as well. It's essential to be aware of what type of fabric is going to suit your skin during this muddled season where you are not even sure of pulling out your trench coats and packing your shorts back in the trunks. It's no secret that if you choose the correct colors, it can make a trend outfit that may be used in a lot of situations. But with my recent studies fabrics that are picked with right colors are even better for the smartness people see in you! Basics like polyester, cotton and suedes work wonder for you (because of their insulating value that conserves your body heat) and you tend to walk in confidence, without shivering or feeling no sweat on the skin or getting irritated. Isn't that reasonable?

My entire look is a mix of easy feminine pieces. This look can be carried at a formal meet in office (layer it with a blazer) or at a casual lunch with your friends. Appears pretty hep and classic! Say wha'? Leave your comments in the section below if you liked it.

Funkyween : No Costume Halloween

"Change the game, don't let the game change you!" - Macklemore

Been saying this for years, Halloween parties are not my thing. Spooky costumes, scary music has never been of my interest, but with the urge of gaining new experiences and adapting to different ideas, I've learnt to give everything a shot! But, like always it has to be my way or no way. I get it, Halloween is all about turning the everyday on its head, being dead when you’re not, wearing your underwear in public and calling it a costume even though it's really cold. Certainly I am not doing that, though with Halloween approaching in just 2 days, I know people are working on their outfits to look crazy AF! However, I have my own way of looking glorious for a Halloween eve that I plan to attend.

I never like to dress up extravagant and go out-of-the-box making efforts to look stylish. Each one of us has a different way to make him/herself stand out of the crowd while being comfortable in their own skin. My personal style is minimalistic and I love carrying outfits that speak more of what I am than what I might try being. For Halloween, I have created a simple yet classy look while adding some funk to it! Scroll down for complete details..

top, leggings : Pantaloons | boots : H&M | choker : ProLeather | sunglasses : Amazon

With Halloween around the corner, it's only natural to look entertainment for costume inspiration. But if you're a person like me - lazy, carefree, fundamental, you know uncultured costumes aren't for us. You are going to look stunning with what you have in your wardrobe, just like how I knew and picked out a turquoise blue side-shoulder top and paired it with black lace leggings! The lace gives elegance to the entire look while the colour of top being an unusual one, looked raw and gorgeous. I chose to add some spice to the outfit with a hot pink broad sized choker that covered my entire neck but appeared graceful and unconventional at the same time! Needless to say, it looks fancy. Also, I snugged into my black suede boots, keeping it sleek and comfortable for the eve. It's a lot of dancing so you know you gotta stay unworried. PS : The sunnies are optional but they look absolutely mesmerising!

To complete the look, my MUA gave me lose curls to add definition to my hair, making my face look sleeker, while she also added some pop glam with subtle colours while painting my face with makeup keeping it sumptuous and swanky. The bright pink lips look even cooler because of the neon coloured choker and compliment each other!

Let's get on tricking with no costume this Halloween and still treat ourselves with the pleasure we all deserve. Go out, dress fun, stay comfy, stun for run! I hope you all liked this look. For more, connect with me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and for my daily whereabouts, add me on Snapchat (username : shubhigarg04). May you have a great Halloween! Until next, love and luck.

Festive Outfit : Option 2 - Bhaidooj

Happy Diwali guys!!!!! Hope y'all are having a great time. I am thrilled to receive the amazing response on my last post, published just yesterday, showing a Diwali outfit, and I can't thank y'all enough for the love you've showered. One of the most viewed posts in less than 20 hours, it's stupendous!

Well, I've just got done with the 'maha pujan' at my place and as promised I am sharing the second festive option (for Bhaidooj) with all you lovely readers. The entire Diwali series, starting from Dhanteras till Bhaidooj is a gala affair and it's so much fun selecting your favorite attires for each day.

For bhaidooj, I thought of dressing up a bit extravagant this year but with a simple kurta paired with churidar, the best way to go about looking absolutely graceful and traditional at the same time. Scroll down to read all details of this regal look for the high-spirited season..

kurta, footwear : Sarojini Market, Delhi | leggings : FBB | Dupatta : Local market, Lucknow
bangles : The Trinket Shop | earrings : Sarojini Market

Festivals give us a chance to dress in traditional silhouettes and make heads turn wherever we step into. This time I picked a simple, color block maxi kurta in chiffon fabric with karshmiri embroidery in blue + white + yellow (bought for Rs.200), and chose to pair it with a yellow churidar pajama. Adding some authentic Indianness, I threw up a silk dupatta in red with gold emboss print that complimented the bright hues of the kurta and churidar. Dupattas enhance the beauty of all ladies instantly, trust me! Moving further, I chose to accessorise the look with traditional metallic jhumkas (bought for Rs.50) in my ears, with silver metal bangles in my hands to give a mystique touch; and ditching heels this time, I added a pair of white bow flats (bought for Rs.100) with wooden beads, that look pretty fashionable.

Adding some more magic on my face, my MUA - Simran Taneja gave me a glam look with golden eyes, heavy mascara and white waterline with a hint of bronze on the sides. Deep contouring and gold blush with deep red lips and soft curls made me look even more enchanting, and yes, I feel like falling in love with myself all over again!

Finding the right cuts to don, and mixing-matching colors and prints in the hustle bustle of festivities looks like a task, but then I'm always here to help you flaunt your best styles for the same reason, making it simple for you to pick your attires for all occasions. I hope you liked this look and if you did, do let me know in the comments below! Until next, lots of love and best wishes. Enjoy!!!!

All dolled up for a date night

This one's for my gorgeous girls, who are always asking me to suggest something cute for them to wear, something on a date night! So girls, I really wanted to introduce a structured skater dress to you! This style has seeped in my wardrobe since Spring and I'd been wanting to put it up long back but couldn't really figure out the right time. But now that so many of you requested me to write about it, I'm here to tell you some fun side of it.

The skater dress trend isn’t exactly new, as it traces back to the 90's inspired by the ice-dance costumes and a reminiscent of the baby doll dress. It resembles the light-heartedness of one. It serves a purpose of making the wearer look all adorable and stunning and it evokes innocence. The dress has a trademark cut. It basically comes in fitted at the waistline and then skims over the hips and thighs in the way of a full circle skirt. The cinched waist and flared skirt makes a woman feel and look good, without sacrificing comfort or style. The length of the skirt is typically designed to fall mid-thigh and it’s splendid for those who love to show off some legs. If you love twirling around in a dress/skirt, then this will surely be the ultimate twirl-inducing dress.

dress : ASA collection | heels : Jabong | bag : Gifted
handcuff : Gifted | neckchain : Bling | rings : Myntra.com

I recently got my hands on this cute piece from ASA Collection, an online fashion store run by a group of girls based in Lucknow, but they ship all over India. This dress has a fun shape to it and as typical as it is said, this one too fits from the neckline to the waist and flares up from there till bottom. Like the usual skater dresses, it is short in length and has a back zip fastening. Now that's what I love about it, because it hides my heavy thighs! Also, you may see my dress is a color block from top and has this aztec pattern at the bottom flares and the mix of winter colors like red, navy blue, and white complimented each other so well!

Since I created this look for a date night, I chose to team it up with a cute pair of stilettos, a long gold chain with white marble studs, a matching gold hand cuff to balance the look and a pair of copper-gold rings in my finger! Also, because I'm a minimalistic by nature I chose to ditch my earrings for the night. Now you also know I just can't do without a handbag so I pulled out a quirky, bold bag which one of my best friends gifted me on my birthday. It went so well with the dress and my heels so I just had to take it along, and of course because it fitted all my essentials! Girls, trust me, a skater dress has fun loving written all over it. It can make you feel exclusively dazzling in your date/prom night. Adding to that, you can even wear it in a party around the block!

In my opinion, people who want to show their chirpy and joyousness via their wardrobe, skater dress are definitely the perfect pick. They look absolutely adorable, and one has to love how vibrant they are. Everyone does go for the sexy look, or bold look once in a while but a "cute look" is something we tend to go for very often. With the perfect type of clothes one can get it and let their outfit flow! Try looking for some at ASA collection, because they have a lot of cute stuff up there. Go check them out now.

Time to sing "Feeling 22" without lying!

Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing good!

Firstly, I would like to thank each one of you for sending me all the lovely birthday wishes. It was like a dream when I figured out the number of mails, messages, comments I got on my special day! Those thousands of wishes made me realize how much you guys love me. So, a big virtual hug to all you amazing people!

Now, while you guys watched my birthday cake video, (those who haven't watched it yet, click HERE and take a look) some of you asked me to share my birthday outfit too. So today I'm sharing with you some crazy pictures we took while I tried on the outfit. Hope you guys like it!

top : Reynu Taandon | pants : Pantaloons | shoes : Jabong
earrings : Accessorize | ring : Myntra

So, I've turned 22 and can finally sing Taylor Swift's "Feeling 22" without lying! Also, my 22nd birthday has been quite happening and I've been receiving gifts past a month. One of those gifts were this pink top I got from one of the most amazing designers in the country, Reynu Taandon. Now we all know how much girls are inclined towards designer clothes, so I be no different and I love wearing accoutres too! Receiving a personally designed piece from an established fashion designer felt like total insanity. I mean come on, Reynu Taandon has been this wonderful lady who has worked for almost all the raging actors and top models of the country and has been showcasing her ecstatic collection in India's leading Fashion Weeks past so many years. So ofcourse, I was on cloud 9. But, much credits go to Naina Ruhail, one of my favorite Indian bloggers who made me win this finely designed outfit in one of her giveaways.

I was drooling when I got this beautiful long, flowy pink top which has layers and layers of Georgette which flared even in the slightest wind. And, also because it was embellished with ersatz pearls on the shoulder-line and the button line too. The white pearls on the black outlined patches made the pink top stand out in itself and also made it a versatile piece which can be worn in casual parties or special events like weddings. The top has this white highlights on the hem and the pleated high-neck which looked really elegant on the white pants I wore below. I'll just take a moment to reveal the story behind these pants. I got them 8 years back when the first Pantaloons store opened in Lucknow's first shopping mall and these pants were actually those bell-bottoms from the '70s. I wore them like that only 2 times since then, till the last year when I got them altered into the slim-fit type which is trending now a days. So these pants are one of those few of my first mall shopping collection, and are very close to my heart!

Now, coming back to the whole ensemble, I put on my favorite white heels with that red lining and the pointing stiletto since I wanted to keep the footwear matching but not mixing with the plain white pants. And a silver-white ring to compliment the pearl patched top. Also added my pink stone earrings which gave a special charm to the whole attire. To be true, I loved each and every detail of my birthday outfit and it did make me feel like I was dressed as a princess!

So yeah, that's what I wore on my birthday and I hope you liked my pick. Also, I would love to see how you pretty ladies dress up on your big day. Tag me in your pictures on instagram, facebook or twitter. And, I'm leaving you guys with my birthday cake pictures below, so you can drool over that too! Enjoy!!!! :)
