Power Dressing 1O1 (ft. Ni & Sa Bags)

Hey pretty ladies, hope all's good and you're keeping pretty. It's been a while since I've had a conversation about power dressing, and a lot of you have been asking me to put across my thoughts about the styles we could don at work! TBH, I'm not really fond of dressing for work, but there's no reason I shouldn't be doing it as well. I meet so many different people at work and I've realised the first think they notice about me (and vice versa) is how I've dressed, and it speaks a lot about my personality. So, today's post is about a formal look I created recently to show you how to rock at your next business meeting!

My favorite quote about style is "Being stylish means standing out yet fitting in at the same time."  I think this is so appropriate for workplace attire and creating a powerful style because you always want to stand out for the right reasons at work.  This means to find a style that fits within the parameters of what’s appropriate, but this varies for each individual. Clothes tell you a lot about a person, and whether you like it or not, the way you look plays a role in your success in the modern workplace!

shacket : Shopnineteen.com | spaghetti, pants : Pantaloons | heels : StreetStyleStore.com | bag : Ni & Sa Bags
sunglasses : Rayban | watch : Daniel Wellington | ring : Blinglane

It's true that there isn’t a lot of variety when it comes to work clothing, so when creating a powerful style the goal instead is to play with how you combine these pieces to make them look different.  In the outfit above, all the pieces are pretty basic. I opted for a pair of high-ankled grey pants from Pantaloons. Now these are cotton pants with classic checkered pattern and super comfortable to wear! I paired it with a pink spaghetti and layered the top with a zebra print shacket in brown-beige. This 'shacket' is a substitute to the heavy blazers we opt to wear at work, but this is a lighter piece with satin fabric base apt for summers, and looks formal and stylish at the same time giving a stronger impression!

Along with a stylish outfit, what also is needed to invest into are the accessories you choose to play with. And bags actually play an important role in making you stand out! For my look, me being me, chose to ditch the boring leather bags and picked this cool tan bag with multi-colored tassles from Ni & Sa Bags Collection. Its really spacious to fit in everything you need for the day (files, stationery, and other regular essentials). And, the sling makes it a cross-body which is super comfy to carry too.

To finish my look, keeping the other accessories minimal, I added a classic petite sterling silver watch which looks the most formal in my watch collection; a little ring on the mini finger; and my stepped-up peep toes in beige and black to match the outfit and portray a straight posture. Trust me, heels (not too high) are one of the most important part of power dressing especially for younger girls! They make you appear classy and smart in most cases and everybody appreciates that.

So girls, the next time you're leading a team, making a presentation or just want people to know you are in charge, dress up your best and rock it! Let me know if this post helped you in some way, in the comments below. Until next, love.

Keeping it simply RAD

Yo! Wassup everyone?....................?? Oh! Didn't that sound cool? or RAD?

Guys, I've been pondering over who started this fashion of internet slangs that actually got feeded in our brains and started to boggle our lives on an everyday basis! I admit I too am guilty of using too many slangs but hey, have you ever wondered what do these two basic words mean? I mean everyone uses it, right? (laughing hard) So, RAD means Radical, which also means Cool. Whereas Cool means Awesome and Great, so untwining the secret RAD = Great. Hell yeah! Now you got it. So, shall we move further? Talking of the RAD/Cool look, I have something for you down below..Lets read!

tee : Tshirts.in | jeans, ankle boots : Forever21 | watch : Fastrack

Being girls of the 21st century, we are often looked up as modern fashionistas. But, its not always that we feel feminine and feel like throwing a cute dress upon us. Sometimes a jeans and a casual tee that sounds boyish, looks really comfortable. But when we have to go out it becomes essential to add some sexy feel to it. To be true, summers call for simplicity and we don't want to add on too much stuff in the scorchy heat! So today, I created a cool, comfy and chic look by adding just 4 pieces to my body and that came out to be so RAD and dressy!

Starting with a pair of jeans, I am very picky when it comes to choosing from a pile of slim-fit jeans. As per me, finding the perfect fitting pair can be somewhat daunting due to the fact that most of the time they are all different. Knowing the difference between the fits, finding the perfect stretch content, the correct rise height, the appropriate leg length as well as finding a nice wash is very overwhelming and a lot of people struggle with it, including me! But I was surprised how easily I came across this blue stone-wash jeans at the Forever21 store in Delhi, as lighter washes make great summer jeans as they are more casual and keep you cooler than darker ones. Being petite, wearing a skinny jeans with a high rise, and a casual tee at the waist level I wanted something that elongates my legs for a more dressier look. I would recommend you all to not go in for a too tight or skinny jeans at other stores. Forever21 collection is mind blowing and I feel every girl on earth should own a pair from the store!

Then, I teamed up my jeans with a black tshirt that I bought online from this amazing website called tshirts.in and the only reason buying it online was that the site offered customized tees at moderate prices (Yes I customized this tee myself - the color and the text)! 'Keeping my looks simple' is my fashion-mantra, and if you follow me on different social media platforms, you know my 'simple' fashion stories very well. Choosing to add a pair of black stiletto heeled ankle boots with my jeans and tee was the best decision, I feel. I got these from Forever21 in Mumbai and to be very frank I'm totally in love with them even though they are a size greater to mine. I pity this brand hasn't yet come to my city! Whaaat? Well, these boots are high heeled but very comfy and add instant pep to my whole look. Keeping it RAD and matching, I wore a black sports watch from my brother's collection. Many people know I'm a watch collector and have too many in my drawers, but all girly. This one from Fastrack has become my on-the-go favorie in the recent times since its a perfect piece of the sporty, catchy and on-the-place type!

At the end, this casual look can be put up in summers as well as in winters, just add a slouchy jacket in the cold weather and you are done! I would love to know what you think and whether or not it was helpful to you. Also, I don’t mind answering any of your questions, so if you have any, just leave me a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as I can! Until then, dress-up casual, be RAD and stay cool.

Cuties, back to college?

Cue the flashbacks to adorable baby pictures, when wearing dungarees was the norm. But are they okay to wear as college students? Since so many of you girls wanted me to answer this question, I have come up with something fun for you today! It would appear that dungarees are a natural transition from the increasingly ubiquitous jumpsuit and can be credited to the current '90s revival, with memorable dungaree wearers from that era including 'Jennifer Aniston in Friends' or 'Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.'

Dungarees (otherwise known as overalls) are back again, and designers like Donna Karan and Ralph Lauren are ranking it high. This trend is not only attracting the American students, but is a rage in Indian colleges too! There are so many different styles of dungarees nowadays, from formal dungarees to dungaree dresses and everything in between. But IMO, the cutest style is the dungaree shorts. They are just so wearable in the summer heat and are an easy way to stay cool while being comfortable and looking stylish. There are tons of different ways to style dungaree shorts and you can completely change your look by adding in a few well pieced accessories together. If you're a bit perplexed as to how to wear this playful garment, I'm showing you how to look less like a Minion and more like Alexa Chung.

watch : Felix | shoes : Rahul Bhatia Art

Dungarees are supposed to be cute, bringing back the emotions associated with youth and innocence. Therefore, your outfit must be light. It is imperative that you stay away from heavy and bulky fabrics that cover your entire body. Like in the pictures above, I'm wearing navy blue dungaree shorts from one of my favorite online sites, stalkbuylove.com, with a striped top that I got from Zara because of its soft stretchable fabric! The best thing about a dungaree is that it keeps you comfy without compromising on style as they are channelling the chic and practical style. The adjustable straps make them really versatile and easy to wear. The key to nailing this look is definitely in the fit. My suggestion would be to avoid anything too tight. As dungarees are often oversized, you need to think about your body shape and about what style and fabric will complement your figure. The details are attractive, from tabs to loops and pockets, etc.

Coming back to how you can wear dungarees to college, I wanted to add a little cuteness to my overall look. So, I picked up my cute bow bag, again from stalkbuylove because they have the prettiest bags of all times and because it is very spacious so I can keep an extra tiffin-box in it too. And since its my on-the-go 'college look', I also added my watch and  my Vogue eyewear because hey, lenses for 6 hours - No No NO! Since you gotta walk a lot around your college campus, I would suggest to go in for sport shoes but of course keep in the style on, so as you can see I'm wearing my sexy pair of converse, with that supercalifragilisticexpialidocious art on it by this amazing guy Rahul Bhatia, these shoes keep me going on for hours from one class to another and the other and further, which is approx 5 kms walk/day. To be true, I'm totally in love with this pair in my shoe section and one more reason to put them on with this outfit was that it matched the greyish-blue & pink color of my bag!

I must say dungarees have that effortless ‘borrowed from the boys’ vibe that can be seen as incredibly sexy. Now, if you are looking to try something new then you should check out this type for sure which is fashionable and fun and comes in a tantalizing variety of styles and colours with prices to suit most budgets whether large or small! The good thing with this outfit is that it exists in all colors, fabrics and also happens to be short. I reckon that the short version is definitely the best option for the summer. Oh BTW, dungarees are certainly considered more of a summer staple but, with the right styling, they can see you through to winters too. Swap crop-tops and T-shirts for silk blouses and cashmere knits and layer with a transitional trench or leather jacket and you are ready to go! So go, checkout the latest dungaree collection at stalkbuylove.com and get your hands on some cute pieces now!
